Very few people in this world still do things for the satsifaction of
knowing they were a help to someone or someone's life. It's is usually
all about the money. I really feel as if I'm apart of that small
percentage that still does things for the self gratification. I went
into healthcare right after attending high school. I was in a hair
salon, as I heard one the the stylist say " the nasty is coming in
today". Moments later I see this very fragile elderly lady come through
the door from a nursiing facility, to get her weekly hair appoinment. At
that moment I realized that I wanted to help make a difference in other
peoples lives and do what I love most of all helping others in the
healthcare field. I never wanted to hear someone elderly or someone that
could not do for themselves get treated unfairly. I got myself in a
position at Avenue HomeCare, Inc. where I got the most satisfaction
knowing that I stafff our clients 97%-100% of the time with the
appropriate nurse/caregiver and knowing that our patients with get the
upmost care and treated with dignity. At the end of everyday I know that
the patients are getting the care they all need and deserve. I feel
honored and blessed knowing that there are several ways to help in
taking part of the care of someone and I'm taking part in that. My dad
always taught me to treat others how you would like to be treated. I
have lived by that and it has lead to a sucessful career and a promising
futher.
