When needed, a companion or home health aide can live-in with the client. Live-in service is charged at a flat daily
rate. The live-in companion or caregiver is paid on the basis of approximately 10 hours of intermittent work during a
24-hour period. The live-in is available primarily during waking hours, must have a place with privacy to sleep and be
able to get adequate rest at night. Clients provide full room and board for live-in caregivers.
A typical 24 hours period can be demonstrated as: 10 hours of intermittent work; 8 hours of sleep time; 3 hours of free
time (on-site); 3 hours for meals
